Homemade biscuits at Christmas were never really something that Hannah & I grew up with. Mince pies? Yes. Christmas pudding? Yes. Yule log? Yes. But homemade Christmas biscuits? Virtually never.
Now, don’t get me wrong, Hannah and I definitely ate biscuits at Christmas –in fact Fox’s Christmas Biscuit Box still makes a regular appearance at our family festivities but homemade biscuits at that time of year just weren’t something that we did.
And it wasn’t something that my friends’ families did either. We were all very happy basking in the glow of dried fruit and mixed peel and didn’t really think anything of it.
But then I moved to the US…and here the holiday cookie is everything.
Not only does every family seem to have the tradition of baking some sort of cookie together in the run up to the big day –but cookies are a super food, used to fuel Santa as he travels miles and miles around the globe in just one night.
Holiday cookies, it seemed, were something that had been missing from my life and I knew that needed to be rectified!
My New Mission!
Try Every Christmas Cookie Ever Created…DUH!
I was more than happy to jump head first into the challenge I had now set for myself –try every holiday cookie possible.
And I bounced from frosted sugar cookie to chocolate chip, to gingerbread and molasses until I was well and truly enveloped in a self-induced sugar coma!
As it turns out…there are a lot of holiday cookies and know that I will not rest until my mission is complete –yes yes, I’m taking one for the team here!

However, over the years of working on my selfless (!!) mission, I began to realize that holiday cookies were so much more than just another biscuit.
Yes, I knew that families would often bake them together but I had assumed this might just happen one frantic December evening while trying to simultaneously wrap 10000 gifts.
But no, that was not the case! Many of my friends’ families put aside a special day in December to bake together as a family using recipes that had been handed down through the generations.

They would don festive jumpers, ensure the Christmas tunes were rolling and the hot chocolate or egg nog were flowing and Christmas cookie baking would become a family event that was not to be missed.
And what’s more…they didn’t stop at just one type of cookie, but instead would often create a whole host of varieties ensuring that everyone’s flavour needs were met.
And it was then, upon learning of this festive activity which I had been missing, that I discovered the ultimate Christmas gift…a Holiday Cookie Box! Yes, that’s right, you heard me!!
It’s a box filled with delicious cookies, but more than that, it is filled with love, tradition and nostalgia and makes the perfect gift for any occasion.

Start My Own Christmas Biscuit Box
So I decided I needed a second mission. To bring this concept into my own Christmas celebrations. And so, for the last four years I have been making Christmas Biscuit Boxes for anyone who will take one from me!
Seriously, what better way to spread Christmas cheer than with a homemade gift filled with sugar?!
And this year I have taken my love for biscuits and my new-found tradition one step further, and have created the Jolly Festive Biscuit Box for you so that you can bring this tradition into your homes.
Every year the box will feature 4 different biscuits ranging in flavours and textures to ensure that everyone is happy! And this year, let me tell you, these biscuits are winners!
Jolly Festive 2021 Christmas Biscuit Box
The selection!
- Rich, silky, indulgent Nutella sandwiched between thin peanut butter biscuits, these are the grown-up version of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and are absolutely delicious.
- Nutty, crumbly and buttery. The flavours are simple but not to be underestimated and give a little bit of an update to a traditional shortbread.
- Providing some sparkle to the inaugural Jolly Festive Biscuit Box, these coconut macaroons are a slightly lighter option amongst the other rich flavours –plus they’re gluten free too!
Oatmeal, Cranberry & Orange Cookies
- This recipe may have been around for a year or so but these are the quintessential flavours of the season and they taste like a mouthful of Christmas with every bite.
Balancing The Christmas Biscuit Box
Each one of these biscuit recipes has been carefully developed and selected to ensure that the flavours within the Christmas Biscuit Box are balanced.
Do you like nuts? It’s got them! Chocolate? It’s got that too! More of a fruity person? Don’t worry, there’s an option for you as well!
Even the pickiest of biscuits palates should be satisfied with the selection here and if you want to switch out one of ours for one of yours then absolutely go ahead; that’s the way traditions are made and continued and we hope the Jolly Festive Christmas Biscuit Box becomes one of yours for years to come.
