Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway Santa Experiences

2021 offered two different Christmas train rides from Toddington Railway Station; with the Santa Express taking people to the North Pole (at Winchcombe) for a visit to the man himself, whilst the Ride with Santa welcomed the man in red onto the train to deliver his gifts.  Details of the 2022 offering had not been released at our most recent update but check the link below for latest info.

Severn Valley Railway Santa Trains

We’re still waiting for the 2022 announcement from Severn Valley Railway.  However there were two different Santa train rides on offer last year, both leaving from beautifully decorated Kidderminster station:

1. The Santa Train – Enjoy a pre-journey snack before hopping on board your steam train journey to Arley. Then it’s off the train for a panto-style show with mischievous elves Jingle & Jangle and even a glimpse of the man in red!  Back on board the train there’s presents waiting for the children as you travel back to Kidderminster.
2. The Enchanted Express – featuring narration by Dame Julie Walters, enjoy a festive tale and Christmas music as you take a magical journey in your very own private compartment aboard the steam train. There’s seasonal refreshments to enjoy before you board, trackside decorations and more to enjoy.  And you’ll meet Father Christmas and other characters along the way.

And for those who fancy something a little different, we hope that last year’s Carol Trains – with an evening train ride to a lively carol service at Highley Engine House – will return for 2022.

The Statfold Santa Express

Whistlestop Valley Santa Specials

There are two Santa Train Rides on offer at Whistlestop Valley:

1. On the Santa Specials, you’ll enjoy a steam train ride to the North Pole for a meeting with Santa in his grotto.  There’s festive treats for all as well as the opportunity to make reindeer food and add a Christmas wish to the magical Wishing Tree too.  

2. For the very littlies (0-5yrs old), Mrs Claus’ Christmas Adventure offers another fun festive option.  Visit the lady of the season at her Cuckoo’s Nest.  Here you’ll enjoy a yuletide tale and even meet one of Santa’s baby reindeer (it’s a life-like puppet before you get too excited!!).  Mrs Claus shares a golden coin with each little visitor to enjoy spending in her special Christmas shop before you head home.

Worth Valley Elf Express

The East Lancashire Railway Santa Special
