Bringing Mood Bears To Ashford & St Peter's Hospitals

An incredible 645 Mood Bears were donated to Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust during our 2021 Christmas Appeal!

This completely smashed our original target of 500 bears and we couldn’t be more thrilled.

Tell Me More About Mood Bears

Mood Bears are specially designed teddies, each representing one of eight internationally recognised moods.  From Love Bear to Calm Bear, Nervous Bear to Silly Bear, these fluffy bundles come with their own special poems to share.

The bears were created by Mood Bear founder Joanna Proud to encourage children to talk, listen and better understand feelings, emotions and moods. They are a fabulous resource for emotional support.  After all, who doesn’t love a bear hug sometimes?!  More information can be found at www.moodbears.co.uk.

Of course these teddies are particularly valuable in a hospital setting, where young people are often trying to process very difficult or sad feelings and worries.  Each child receiving a bear takes their new teddy friend home after their stay in, or visit to, the hospital, thus providing long term support and cuddles!

Mood Bears have been successfully introduced to support children in a number of hospitals around the UK, such as Birmingham’s Children Hospital, Great Ormond Street Hospital and Leicester Hospitals.

And, at Jolly Festive, we’re really excited to be assisting the arrival of Mood Bears at Ashford & St Peter’s Hospitals in time for Christmas and into 2022.
