The Victorian Christmas ShopBourton-on-the-Water, The Cotswolds
Bourton-on-the-Water belongs on the front of a Christmas card. It is as chocolate-box-perfect as English villages come. And the mere idea of NOT finding a Christmas Shop amongst the many independent retailers in this picturesque Cotswold corner would seem ludicrous!

The Victorian Christmas Shop Story
Having previously run the café at Birdland down the road, Bourton-raised Tom and his partner felt that a little Christmas shop would be the perfect retirement project. ‘We’ve never worked so hard in our lives!’, exclaimed Teana.
‘we had to start hanging ornaments from the ceiling’
Every inch of this small store is put to use. ‘We had to start hanging ornaments from the ceiling when we ran out of wall space,’ explains Tom. The effect is endearing, with red and gold glistening from all angles whilst Christmas music plays softly in the background.
Tom & Teana’s preference for more traditional décor is evident. They changed the name of the shop in part to reflect their style. ‘It also ties in nicely with the references in the village,’ explains Tom, ‘with Victoria Street next to the river, and Victoria Hall [the local village hall] too.’
